This book is fairly good. It provides very specific recommendations on lighting and posing that are a useful place to start. Many books talk in generalities
He is adamant that the reader should stick with just two types of poses and lighting. You might not agree, but it does give one someplace to start.

this is the first book I hav read on the subject of portraiture and, from what I can tell, it is a fine book. The author provides good tips that are practical, writes in an informal style and makes good use of his experience in the field. This is a good book and worthy of consideration for addition to a library of photo books.
